Bike Challenge 2022 - Cycling to Split for the third time

28.05.2022

Bike Challenge 2022 - Cycling to Split for the third time. And this year "it's even bigger"

"Children and parents, get up from your tablets and computers. Movement is good for you. And in the post-covid era, this is doubly true!" You've heard or read this before? That's only good. This is the third time that Mike Saran, the founder of the Sport2Life Foundation, is repeating this call, along with such big names as Patrik Berger, Patrik Elias and Tomas Grim. And to confirm that they are serious, they will cycle to Split, Croatia, for the third time. They want to motivate others to overcome obstacles and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Start Bike Challenge will be accompanied by sports events for children

The start of the Bike challenge 2022 is on Sunday 29 May and it is to be enjoyed especially by children. A shortened version of the popular Urban Challenge race awaits them, as well as a fun colour run called Barvám Neutečeš and other sporting activities. They will meet many famous names in the form of competition ambassadors or representatives of major sports clubs. This year's novelty is also the participation of contestants (including finalists) of the reality show Survivor Czechia & Slovakia.

The peloton will set off by bike at 11:00 a.m. from the Tupolevova Primary School in Prague Letňany in the direction of Neveklov - Planá nad Lužnicí - Třeboň and then through 4 countries to Split, Croatia. Also during the stops in the Czech Republic, the children will enjoy a great deal of sport, just like those who arrive at the start. A T-shirt and a small gift await everyone.

A message carried across four countries

The cyclists themselves will ride 1,200 km on bicycles and climb 10 km on roads and off-road paths in the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

The Czech-Croatian adventure will last 11 days, ending on 8 May with the arrival at the Le Meridien Lav hotel in Split. But the experience on the route is not just about pedalling. Like last year, the team plans to climb a ferrata in Austria, visit lakes, caves and a waterfall, and if there's time, there will be some cultural sights to see.

You can follow everything on the official Instagram profiles of Mike Saran or the Sport2Life Foundation (#bikechallenge #Sport2Life).

Crowdfunding campaign also starts

The Sport2Life Foundation organises a series of events that encourage children to move and to love sport and a healthy lifestyle. To make the impact of the beneficial activities even greater, a crowdfunding campaign will also be symbolically launched on the day of the launch to support the Sport2Life Foundation's programmes.
